It's all about the story!
Martine wolff
Martine is a European cinematographer based in Melbourne. She comes from an arts background, has an MA in cinematography from Goldsmiths, University of London and her focus lies in visual storytelling in narrative film.
Martine is inspired by truth, beauty and the awkward of life and carefully listens to the story that wants to be told. Curiosity about the world has helped her develop her own way of perception, understanding and implementation of stories through the medium of camera and light.
Martine is currently working on her 4th narrative feature film as cinematographer after recently completing a Screen Australia and Vic Screen funded feature documentary called ‘Phenomena’. Martine’s first feature film Sunflower (dir. Gabriel Carrubba) has been received well having been selected for festivals nationally and internationally. It has premiered at the prestigious Sydney Film Festival and been the official selection of festivals such as the Melbourne International Film Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival, Roze Filmdagen Film Festival Amsterdam, Out Shine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Miami and more. It also went to the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes 2023. Two more features that Martine shot, Love Tea and Epiphany and Reign on Me are currently in the final stages of post production.
Short films that Martine has been the cinematographer for, such as Coming ang Going (dir. Andy Johnston) and End Pointe (dir. Lesley Pinder) are playing at festivals this year. Keep Mum (dir. Luana di Pasquale) and Latent (dir. Lefteris Parasyris), have been earning awards nationally and internationally and she has been both nominated and also won awards for cinematography, such as ‘Winner for Best Cinematography’ at OFN Film Festival in London.
